PART THREE The Pre-Trip Inspection Test

The pre-trip inspection skill test will check your ability to inspect important parts of the commercial vehicle. Section 2 of this manual covers the pre-trip inspection. During this test you will be required to check certain items on the vehicle. You must explain how you are inspecting the item and what you are looking for.

You should review section 5 of this manual if you are operating a vehicle with air brakes. You must pass the pre-trip inspection prior to going on the drive test.

A drive test will not be conducted if the vehicle has defective equipment or is not licensed.

No passengers or animals will be allowed in the vehicle during the test.
