The Commercial Drivers License (CDL)

This site can help you understand and meet the driver licensing requirements and standards needed to pass the written exam, and prepare for the driving skills test.

BUT!

You must obtain a manual from your state and study. Use your manual with this site to assist in your learning of the material.

Remember! A Commercial Driver is a Professional Driver!

You as a “Professional Driver” are required to know this material as well as any updates and changes in the law.

We will do our best to keep up with the changing rules and regulations, but when in doubt the manual is what you must go by.

Most drivers will not need to study the entire manual.

Section one and three are for all CDL students.

All CDL applicants need to study all sections in part one.

Section two applies to the vehicle type the student will be licensed for.

Only study the sections in this part that apply to the vehicles you drive.

Section three applies to the road skills test.

All CDL applicants need to study all sections in part three.

The sections you need to know, depend on the Class of License you require.

The class of the license depends on the type of vehicle you will be driving.

To help you avoid the confusion we have made it a little easier for you.
