1. As you approach the
parking space, check traffic beside and behind you, making sure
the driver behind you is far enough away to stop oe move around
you safely. TURN ON YOUR SIGNAL.

2. Pull up beside the
car in front of your chosen space leaving 2 to 3 feet of space
between. Line up the rear bumpers.

3. When you are at
a full stop. shift to reverse, check your mirrors and look over
your shoulder for traffic behind and beside you. S-l-o-w-l-y
back up turning your steering wheel all the way to the right.

4. When the back of
your front seat is in line with the rear bumper straighten the
wheels by turning the steering wheel smoothly and quickly to
the left.

5. Back slowly until
your right front fender just clears the other car's left rear
fender.

6. Continue to back
slowly looking over your shoulder and turning the steering wheel
to the left, and stop before touching the vehicle behind you.

7. Shift to drive and
pull slowly forward, turning the steering wheel to the right
to straighten the wheels.
8. Center the car in the space leaving
6 - 12 inches to the curb.

Parking Regulations
- NO PARKING
- means you may only stop temporarily to load
or unload merchandise or passengers
- NO STANDING
- means you may only stop temporarily to load
or unload passengers.
- NO STOPPING
- means you may stop only to obey a traffic signal
or officer, or to avoid conflicts with other vehicles.
- YOU MAY NOT PARK, STAND OR STOP:
- Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant (unless a
licensed driver remains in the vehicle)
- On the road side of a parked vehicle ( double
parking )
- On a sidewalk or in a crosswalk.
- On railroad tracks
- On a bridge or tunnel.
- YOU MAY NOT PARK or STAND
- in front of a driveway
- Within 20 ft of a crosswalk or intersection
- Within 30 ft of a traffic light, STOP sign
or yield sigh.
- Within 20 ft of a fire station driveway, or
within 75 ft on the opposite side of the road.
- Along a curb that has been cut down of access
to the sidewalk,
- or within 50 ft of a railroad crossing.
PARKING IN A DISABLED PARKING SPACE WILL RESULT IN
A FINE
- PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE

- Make sure your wheels are straight
- back up to the vehicle behind you,
- turn your wheels away from the curb,
- turn your head and check for traffic through
the windows,
Go forward slowly making sure you clear the vehicle
ahead.
