Steering Failure
- If your vehicle suddenly stops responding
to the steering wheel
- Ease your foot off the gas pedal Turn your
flashers uncap your foot off the brake for as long as possible. (The
vehicle's natural balance should keep it going straight, but a sudden

gently to bring it to a stop.

signals (they may give you enough light to get safely off the road.

Stuck Gas Pedal
- Hook your toe under the pedal and see if
you can free it.

down and get off road

Running off the
Pavement
- Your wheels drifted off the pavement and
onto the shoulder.
- Don't yank the steering wheel back

pavement

- Unfasten seat belt and escape through window
(do not open the door)
- If the vehicle sinks, climb to the rear seat
where an air pocket should form.
- Escape though a window once the vehicle is
settled.
- As you rise to the surface , breath out in
small breaths until you surface.
